Life gets busy with running kids to lessons and sports and just being a family especially for homeschooling families. This Nuts and Fruit Trail Mix only takes a few minutes to make and it’s full of healthy nuts which add good fat and protein, and some fruit for a great snack on the go. Do you have a favorite dried fruit or nut? Just add it to the mix.
This is also a great recipe for teaching little ones how to measure cups since all the ingredients are 1 cup each.
Nut & Fruit Trail Mix Recipe
1 cup of pecan halves
1 cup of whole almonds
1 cup of unsweetened coconut chips
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 cup of banana chips
1 cup of dried strawberries
In a large bowl add ingredients then toss together. Store in an airtight container. You can easily just grab the container and go or portion out a couple of handfuls in zipper bags for each child.
This is a great snack for hikes, road trips and field trips too.
